The Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius are offered by Our Lady of Corpus Christi as a weekend retreat to parishes in the Diocese of Corpus Christi. This 3-day retreat is led by a priest or deacon and promotes a deeper walk with Jesus for those who have said yes to know Jesus through prayer and scriptures. This is particularly beneficial for team members, who staff evangelization retreats: the ACTS, the Journey to Damascus, the Encounter, the Journey of Faith, the Cursillo, or the like. The retreat encourages each disciple to silently reflect on his or her faith journey and experience the power of silence while in prayer with scripture.

The process is simple:

1. Identify a captain/leader with a team, one for men and one for the women. The team, in turn, will recruit parishioners to attend and lead certain prayers at the retreat. Dc. Bob Allen will train the captain and team for this ministry and offers to speak at Masses for 3 minutes to recruit if desired.
    
2. Pick weekend(s) for men and women for your parish so each disciple can continue to grow spiritually so as to support parish life and various service ministries more abundantly.

The retreat, held separately for men or women, begins at 5 PM Thursday and ends at 1PM on Sunday. There is a limit of 25 men or women per retreat. Each participant enjoys a private room to relax in silence with God. There is no set price for the retreat. Near the end of the retreat, the SOLT priest gives "the sermon on the amount" with $150 to 200 suggested as a fair amount. Some are blessed and donate more and some are less fortunate and donate less. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
